How to win by Daniel Gross

Sleep

  1. Sleep is the best productivity booster. Get enough sleep. Period.
  2. Spend lavishly on things that will improve the quality of your sleep e.g. sleep mask.
  3. Avoid using an alarm clock and a lot of lights during the night; Your ancestors were not exposed to it.

Food

  1. Garbage food impairs your judgement. Don't eat junk food.
  2. Eat whatever food you think is healthy.
  3. Drink an uncomfortable amount of water.

Exercise

  1. If you don't exercise, spend as much time outdoors as possible.
  2. Your competitors are doing 4x exercise every week. You should also do.
  3. Running has the best ROI.
  4. Surround yourself with everyone who does that.

Mind Food

  1. Your brain constantly does pattern recognition. To recognise a pattern, it needs information.
  2. Take 1 day of break in a week. When you come back, your brain starts solving problems in a more novel way.
  3. Read anything long-form - Don't think about finishing a book. Read any book, anytime and all the time.
  4. Sign out of Twitter, Instagram, etc.

Mind Software

  1. Go from 1st person view to 3rd person view - Mindfulness
  2. Most important mental shift you can do as a founder
